The Magic Lantern course for classes 3 to 8 follows a skills and curriculum-based approach to language learning. The focus is on developing the essential language skills of listening, speaking, reading and writing, along with core competencies of vocabulary, spelling, grammar and punctuation.

The coursebooks are designed to achieve the curricular goals and learning outcomes set out in NEP 2020. The contents conform to formal pedagogical learning recommended for the Preparatory Stage (classes 3 to 5) and the Middle-School Stage (classes 6 to 8).
